The Strange Family Story

Our story begins in 1999 with me, Dale Strange. At the time, I was running a landscaping business and managing a large contract with over 350 houses, many of which had only eight feet of space between them.

Mulching these tight areas proved to be incredibly inefficient. We then tried using a standard bolted-on mulch plate, but constantly removing it for more open areas was too time-consuming. Frustrated with the lack of a good solution, I enlisted my father, Harry Strange, a design engineer, to help create a solution that would allow our mowers to transition seamlessly between mulching and side-discharging. From that collaboration, the Qwikchute was born.

It wasn’t long before other landscapers noticed our new device in action and began asking us to build one for them. This organic demand was the beginning of GTM Manufacturing Inc.

Today, GTM Manufacturing has grown to include over 25 employees and four generations of the Strange family, shipping the Qwikchute to valued customers all over the country and around the world. I am incredibly proud of what we have built and want to extend our sincere thanks to our customers for their support over the past 25 years. We look forward to continuing to serve the landscaping community for the next 25.
